The Smith Center will welcome one of the most beloved and celebrated musical ambassadors of our time, soprano Renée Fleming. Making her first-ever public recital in Las Vegas, Fleming will astound audiences with a diverse program of beloved songs and arias ranging from grand opera favorites to Broadway and The Great American Songbook, Thursday, May 1 in Reynolds Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Captivating audiences with her sumptuous voice, consummate artistry and compelling stage presence, Fleming is known as "the people's diva." She's performed across the world from the Beijing Olympics to Buckingham Palace to the Obama Inaugural Celebration, garnering acclaim in the world's greatest opera houses and concert halls around the globe. She has hosted and performed on a wide variety of television and radio broadcasts including The Metropolitan's "Live in HD" series for movie theaters and television and "Live from Lincoln Center" on PBS. A four-time GRAMMY winner, Fleming won the 2013 Best Classical Vocal Solo GRAMMY Award. Recently, she brought her voice to a vast new audience as the first classical artist to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
