The New York Post is reporting that actor, comedian Ricky Gervais is set to return as host of the AnnuAl Golden Globe awards on NBC.  Gervais is the creator of THE OFFICE and has hosted the awards event for the past two years.

While last year's broadcast of the ceremony was a ratings winner for the network, Gervais was warned that he would be banned from ever working in Hollywood again after he took some low pot shots at some of tinsel town's leading men, including Charlie Sheen and Robert Downey Jr.

Recently Gervais said that he was asked by NBC to return as host of the annual event, but that he wasn't sure if he wanted to do it.

The Golden Globe Awards are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to recognize outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, both domestic and foreign, and to focus wide public attention upon the best in motion pictures and television.

NBC has decline comment at this time.
