The film will star Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier, Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Jack Dylan Grazer as Stan Uris, Wyatt Oleff as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom. Bill Skarsgard takes on the role of villain Pennywise the clown.

The 1986 horror novel followed the exploits of seven children as they are terrorized by the eponymous being, which exploits the fears and phobias of its victims in order to disguise itself while hunting its prey. "It" primarily appears in the form of a clown in order to attract its preferred prey of young children. The novel is told through narratives alternating between two time periods.

The film is set to be released in two parts with Part One set to hit theaters on September 8, 2017.
