According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nick Jonas will be returning to television in a co-starring role in DirecTV's upcoming drama NAVY ST., opposite Kiele Sanchez (The Glades).

NAVY ST. centers on a mixed martial arts gym in Venice, California. The gym is run by Alvey Henderson (Frank Grillo), "a former fighter whose drug addiction prevented him from making it big". Jonas will star as Nate Henderson, Alvey's son and the apple of his eye. Nate lives with his older, addict brother Jay (Jonathan Tucker). Sanchez will star as Lisa Prince, Alvey's girlfriend.

The drama was created by Byron Balasco and is set to begin production in May 2014 in Los Angeles, aiming for a fall debut.

Jonas last appeared on television in Hawaii Five-O, Smash, Last Man Standing and The Lying Game. This will be his first regular TV role since Disney's Jonas. The Jonas Brothers band broke up after canceling their concert tour last year.

Jonas will next appear on the big screen in Careful What You Wish For and starred on Broadway in 2011's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
