NBC Sports Heads to Texas Motor Speedway for Weekend of NASCAR Action

NBC Sports presents a much anticipated weekend of racing from Texas Motor Speedway. On the heels of last weekend's dramatic events in Martinsville, NASCAR Sprint Cup racing returns to NBC Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET. After a two-week hiatus the NASCAR XFINITY Series kicks back into action on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Before Sunday's green flag falls, Jeff Gordon shares his emotions with Marty Snider following his exciting win in Martinsville and memorable post-race celebration. After having a few days to recover and process the win, Gordon discusses what it means to be one of the final four racers moving on to Miami with a shot at the Championship. Coverage also showcases a special pre-race ceremony in which 24 skydivers descend into Texas Motor Speedway to honor Gordon's final showdown in "The Lone Star State."

Sunday's pre-race coverage takes an in-depth look at two of the most memorable confrontations that have transpired since the new Chase format was enacted. From last year's altercation between Jeff Gordon andBrad Keselowski in Texas to the recent collision between Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth in Martinsville,coverage examines how the added pressure of the Chase is upping the aggression.

Ken Squier returns to voice a special essay on Texas' "Great American Speedway." Because everything is bigger in Texas, Squire examines the big moments, big paybacks and big controversies that have occurred at the1.5-mile speedway over the years.

Features reporter Rutledge Wood takes viewers across town to AT&T Stadium, where this week's SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL showdown takes place between the Eagles and Cowboys.

NBC Sports' Sprint Cup coverage from "Cowtown" begins Friday with first practice at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN followed by a 30-minute on-site NASCAR AMERICA at 6 p.m. ET. Qualifying kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Saturday's coverage begins on CNBC with Sprint Cup Series second practice at 11 a.m. ET.NASCAR America begins at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and flows into Sprint Cup final practice at 2 p.m. ET.

Race day Sunday begins at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NASCAR AMERICA Sunday presented by DraftKings.Coverage moves over to NBC at 1:30 p.m. ET with the Countdown to Green Served by Sonic pre-race show. Sprint Cup Racing from Texas Presented by Nexium begins at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage from Texas Motor Speedway wraps up with the Post Race Show at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN and NASCAR Victory Lap at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Coverage shifts over to NBC at 3 p.m. ET with XFINITY Series Countdown to Green Pre-Race Show. XFINITY Series Racing from Texas Presented by Honda Powersports begins at 3:30 p.m. ET.
