TVLine.com reports that AMERICAN IDOL's Jessica Sanchez has been cast in the FOX musical drama series GLEE. The singer finished in second-place on the eleventh season of the singing competition, just missing the title bestowed upon fan favorite Phillip Phillips

According to the TVLine exclusive report, Sanchez will have a recurring role on the series. No details have been released as to the character she will portray, put rumors have been circulating that she may be the next romantic interest for Cory Monteith's Finn.

On Idol, the native Californian wowed the judges with her version of Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You." She also revealed her alter-ego, 'Bebe Chez' on the 7th week of the show. The Idol judges chose to use their one and only 'save' option on Sanchez after she wound up as the lowest vote getter the following week.

A highlight of the season was a duet featuring Sanchez and Broadway belter Jennifer Holliday on the Dreamgirls classic “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”
