ESPN Networks to Present Live Coverage of the 2017 Triple Crown Races

ESPN will air LIVE coverage of the prestigious 2017 Triple Crown races, the most exciting and historic races on the horseracing calendar: the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness STAKES and the Belmont Stakes. All three races will air LIVE on the ESPN television networks and on ESPN Play, ESPN?s live streaming platform.

The first and arguably the most famous race in the Triple Crown-the Kentucky Derby, often referred to as "the most exciting two minutes in sports"-starts at 5:00 p.m. ET Saturday May 6 on ESPN2 Caribbean. The Preakness STAKES follows LIVE on Saturday, May 20 at 4 p.m. ET and the Belmont STAKES LIVE on Saturday, June 10 at 5 p.m. ET. Check local listings.

Classic EMPIRE and Always Dreaming are the co-favorites for the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby. Over 150,000 spectators will be on hand at Churchill Downs to see who will claim their share of the $2 million dollar purse in the first leg of the Triple Crown, also known as 'The Run for the Roses.'
