According to The Hollywood Reporter, THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER's Daren Kagasoff has signed on to star opposite Emma Roberts in Fox's upcoming pilot DELIRIUM.

From Karyn Usher, the project is based upon Lauren Oliver's young adult trilogy, and follows Lena Holoway (Roberts), who falls in love in a society where the emotional - and all of its various incarnations - are illegal. Usher will executive producer with Peter Chernin, Paula Mazur, and Katherine Pope.

Kagasoff will take on the role of Alex, the young man who Lena falls for. According to the report, "he's a uniformed police officer who on the surface appears tough, smug and a rigid enforcer of the government's rules. Underneath, he's a man with a secret agenda: he's a member of an anti-government group led by Lawrence Tack, one that is infiltrating the most oppressive elements of society while hiding the fact that he still has a mind of his own."
