In a recent interview with the U.K.'s The List, Daniel Radcliffe revealed that he has modeled his acting career after Academy Award winning actor Dustin Hoffman. The 'Harry Potter' star shared that Hoffman serves as his inspiration in becoming a leading man.

"The person I've been looking at is Dustin Hoffman," shared the 23-year-old. "In fact, I passed him the other day and he is absolutely on the shorter side, as am I. But he was in all those great roles, from action thrillers to romantic stuff. So there is a way of doing it unconventionally if you don't necessarily look like the 6 ft romantic lead."

The actor also revealed that taking on the controversial role in 2007's revival of Equus helped establish him as a serious actor. "Doing Equus was important. It showed people that I wasn't just here to capitalize on the Potter fame for as long as I could. I think ultimately, I'm ambitious because I want to prove everyone wrong who thinks that it's impossible to emerge from Harry Potter and do well."

Daniel Radcliffe is best known for playing the title role in the 'Harry Potter' film franchise. He made his Broadway debut, to much acclaim, in EQUUS and made his Broadway musical debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in the recent revival of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.

He will next appear on the big screen in the upcoming Kill Your Darlings, starring as the poet Allen Ginsberg.
