48 HOURS: "The Doctor's Daughter" was Saturday's #1 non-sports broadcast with viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Oct. 3.

48 HOURS delivered 4.57 million viewers and a 1.1/03 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news.

Saturday's broadcast featured Jim Axelrod and 48 HOURS' investigation into the 2012 death of Leslie Neulander and the murder case against her husband, Dr. Robert Neulander. Leslie was found by her husband, unresponsive in the shower of their home in a suburb of Syracuse, N.Y.

Initially, Leslie Neulander's death was declared an accident. However, investigators were troubled by blood spatter at the scene. Eighteen months after Leslie Neulander died, her husband was charged with her murder. One of the key witnesses in the case was their daughter, Jenna, who frantically called 911 after hearing her father SCREAM for help.

The investigation into the death would uncover a troubled marriage, suggestions of a pending split and declining finances. Neulander's defense team maintained that this was a loving and united home, and Leslie died from injuries suffered from a fall in the shower. Prosecutors say it was murder, and that the doctor tried to cover up a crime.

48 HOURS: "The Doctor's Daughter" is produced by Lourdes Aguiar, Allen Alter, Ruth Chenetz and Peter Shaw. Mary Sue Dehn is the development producer. Michael McHugh is the producer-editor. Ken Blum, Alan Miller, Mike Mongulla and Gary Winter are the editors. Judy Tygard is the senior producer. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
