Tony Award winner, Theater Hall of Fame member and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley returns to Denver to teach her third consecutive Summer Intensive Song Interpretation & Monologue Workshop, June 9-13th. The workshop is a master class for actors and singers of all levels: high school students, college students, professionals, educators and anyone aspiring to refine their communication skills in word or song.

During her workshops, Ms. Buckley shares her expertise and guides her students through a methodology that facilitates audience connection through songs and monologues. Her emotional connection to songs and audiences is renowned, and that very connection is at the heart of what Ms. Buckley imparts to her students.

For over forty years, Ms. Buckley has taught scene study and song interpretation workshops at various universities and performing arts conservatories throughout the U.S. She continues to share her talents with professional and emerging actors through her musical theater workshops. Her professional workshops are in Fort Worth, New York, Los Angeles, Denver and other cities nationwide.

Buckley is especially proud of her high school students, all of whom, through the work they have done in her past workshops, have been admitted into the universities and performing arts conservatories of their choosing, most on full scholarships. "It gives me such joy to assist the growth of my younger students and to facilitate the dreams of my mature students to step into their true potential. It is my privilege to pass along the tools given to me by my great teachers," says Buckley.

The Denver Summer Intensive consists of five consecutive class sessions - Monday through Friday, June 9-13th from 1pm to 6pm. Auditors are welcome to observe the class at a reduced fee and will participate in the group exercises. Full participants prepare two contrasting songs or monologues and will also do individual work under Ms. Buckley's direction. An accompanist will be provided for singers. Space is limited.
