ABC Sports Announces WORLD OF X GAMES January 2017 Lineup

The 2017 WORLD OF X GAMES series on ABC begins January 1, ringing in the New Year with the latest ACTION SPORTS content. Beginning with highlights from the final Real Series - Real Snow Backcountry - and final WORLD SURF LEAGUE stop of 2016 - Billabong Pipe Masters, the WORLD OF X GAMES series then transitions to 2017 with a behind the scenes look at the making of Monster Energy's third edition of the popular Doonies edit. The final two episodes in January preview all the action to come during X GAMES Aspen from January 26 - 29.

Real Snow Backcountry

Airs: 1/1 at 4 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT on ABC (Reair)

The final installment of the 2016 Real Series video-only competition for 2016, Real Snow Backcountry will feature six of the world's best backcountry snowoarders premiering 90-second video parts. Each athlete will have the opportunity to team with an editor on the production of a video part that will present that rider in their own unique style. Each Real Series competition culminates in a one-hour WORLD OF X GAMES show that will feature behind-the-scenes footage, athlete interviews and selection of the medalists. WSL: Billabong Pipe Masters

Airs: 1/8 at 3 p.m. ET & PT on ABC

Held in memory of later surfer Andy Irons, the Billabong Pipe Masters is the final stop on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy WORLD SURF LEAGUE Championship Tour. Earning his best result of the season, Michael Bourez became only the second Tahitian to make it into the final series this year, winning over rookie Kanoa Igarashi.

Making of Doonies 3

Airs: 1/14 at 3 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on ABC

The Making of Doonies 3 is a behind the scenes look at all the high octane action in the dunes of Glamis, Calif. The annual Doonies edits bring together the best moto, truck, rally, snowmobile and other ACTION SPORTS athletes in a week-long, go big or go home film shoot. The Making of Doonies 3 looks at the experience through the eyes of riders Jeremy McGrath, Twitch, Axell Hodges, Tyler Bereman and more.

X Games Golden Moments

Airs: 1/14 at 3:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT on ABC

This weekend's show will revisit some of the top "Golden Moments" from last year's X GAMES Aspen event. Featured moments will include snowboarder Chloe Kim defending her SuperPipe gold, skier Kevin Rolland reclaiming the SuperPipe throne, Snowmobiler Tucker Hibbert earning a record-setting ninth consecutive gold, Snowboarder Mark McMorris taking gold in Slopestyle and silver in Big Air and many more.

X Games Aspen Preview

Airs: 1/21 at 2 p.m. ET / 1 PT on ABC

The X GAMES Aspen Preview show will provide fans a look ahead to all the ACTION SPORTS competitions and musical performances at X GAMES Aspen 2017. Hosted by Brandon Graham, the show will preview musical performances by Bassnectar, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, The Chainsmokers and G-Eazy. Graham will also take a look at this year's upcoming athletes to watch and other happenings at X GAMES Aspen.
