2016 HONDA NHL ALL-STAR GAME Highlights NBCSN's Weekend Coverage

NBC Sports presents comprehensive 2016 Honda NHL All-Star coverage this weekend from Nashville, Tenn., culminating with the 3-on-3 NHL ALL-STAR GAME on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Three-time Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike 'Doc' Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and analyst Eddie Olczyk, Emmy Award-winning 'Inside-the-Glass' analyst Pierre McGuire, and 500-goal scorer Jeremy Roenick call the back-and-forth action from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

This week's coverage features Alex Ovechkin and the league-leading Washington Capitals against Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday Night Rivalry at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, followed by a Wednesday Nightcap matchup between Matt Duchene and the Colorado Avalanche and Jonathan Quickand the Los Angeles Kings at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Coverage begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres visit Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers. NBCSN also presents a Tuesday night doubleheader, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks visit Justin Faulk and the Carolina Hurricanes, followed by Avalanche-Sharks at 10 p.m. ET.

Liam McHugh and Kathryn Tappen will combine to anchor this week's studio coverage, alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury, Keith Jones, Jeremy Roenick and Brian Boucher. 2016 NHL ALL-STAR COVERAGE ON NBCSN

The Honda NHL ALL-STAR GAME will feature a new 3-on-3 divisional format this year, inspired by this year's new 3-on-3 overtime format, with a prize pool of $1 million to be paid to the winning team. Pre-game coverage begins Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, hosted by Liam McHugh, alongside analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and Jeremy Roenick.

NBCSN's NHL All-Star coverage begins Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET with a special NHL TOP 10 - 3-on-3edition, as host Liam McHugh and analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones count down the best 3-on-3 moments of the 2015-16 NHL regular season. Friday night's coverage moves to NASHVILLE at 8 p.m. ET withNHL All-Star Friday Night: Live in Music City. Hosted by NBCSN's Kathryn Tappen and Kimberly Perry, lead singer of Grammy Award and CMA Award-winning group The Band Perry, the primetime special will feature top NHL stars, as well as performances from Aaron Lewis, Kristian Bush, Big & Rich, John Hiatt and Lee Brice from the outdoor Honda Stage at Bridgestone Winter Park in the heart of downtown Nashville.

Coverage continues on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET with the NHL Skills Competition. Each of the 44 All-Stars will compete in at least one of the following skill-based contests: Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater™, Honda NHL Breakaway Challenge™, DraftKings NHL Accuracy Shooting™, Gatorade NHL Skills Challenge Relay™, AMP Energy NHL Hardest Shot™, and Discover NHL Shootout™. Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Olczyk, McGuire and Jeremy Roenick will call the NHL Skills Competition.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY - FLYERS-CAPITALS - 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

All-Star representatives Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby, and the league-leading Capitals return to action on Wednesday Night Rivalry to host the Flyers, after both of Washington's games this past weekend were postponed due to severe winter weather in the Washington D.C. area. The Capitals (35-8-3, 73 pts; 1st in Metropolitan Division) lead the league in wins, points, and fewest goals allowed (99).

Claude Giroux is the sole All-Star representative for the Flyers (20-17-8, 48 pts) who sit in seventh in the Metropolitan Division and have scored the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference (101). Giroux has led the club offensively with 14 goals and 37 points. The Caps won the previous meeting between the two teams this season by a score of 5-2. Albert (play-by-play), Olczyk (analyst) and Boucher ('Inside-the-Glass') will call the action from the Verizon Center.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTCAP - AVALANCHE-KINGS - 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Pacific Division-leading Kings (30-15-3, 63 pts) feature two All-Stars - defenseman Drew Doughty and goaltender Jonathan Quick, currently ranked third in the NHL with 26 wins. Los Angeles leads San Jose in the division by nine points following a 3-2 overtime win against the Sharks on Sunday evening.

Colorado (26-21-3, 55 pts) has jumped into the first Wild Card position and fourth place in the Central Division with four straight wins to leapfrog Minnesota and NASHVILLE in the standings. The Avalanche have allowed one goal or less in five of their last six games, and notched a 4-1 win against the Kings on Jan. 4. Matt Duchene, Colorado's lone All-Star representative, leads the club in goals (22) and points (40). Dave Strader (play-by-play) and McGuire ('Inside-the-Glass') will call the action from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

SABRES-RANGERS - TONIGHT AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Rookie sensation Jack Eichel and the Sabres (19-25-4, 42 pts; 8th in Atlantic Division) travel to Manhattan tonight to face Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers in the first meeting of the season between the two in-state foes. Ryan O'Reilly will represent Buffalo at the All-Star game, and leads the club in goals (17) and points (40). Eichel is second on the team in goals scored with 14.

The Rangers (26-17-5, 57 pts) sit second in the Metropolitan Division, one point ahead of the rival N.Y. Islanders. Defenseman and team captain Ryan McDonagh earned All-Star honors for the Rangers, who are coming off a 3-0 loss in Ottawa on Sunday evening. Albert (play-by-play) and Joe Micheletti ('Inside-the-Glass) will call the game from Madison Square Garden.

BLACKHAWKS-HURRICANES - TOMORROW AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Western Conference-leading Blackhawks (33-15-4, 70 pts) boast a pair of All-Stars in Patrick Kane andJonathan Toews. Kane continues to hold a dominant lead in the NHL scoring race; his 73 points are 16 more than Dallas' Jamie Benn in a distant second place. Toews ranks second on the Blackhawks in goals (19), and goaltender Corey Crawford leads the NHL with seven shutouts.

Carolina (22-20-8, 52 pts; 6th in Metropolitan Division) is coming off a 5-2 win at home against Calgary on Sunday, and is led offensively by its lone All-Star representative, Justin Faulk. The defenseman ranks second on the team in goals (14) and first in points (33), one of seven players on the team with at least 20 points. Pat Foley (play-by-play) and Olczyk will call the action from PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

AVALANCHE-SHARKS - TOMORROW AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Sharks (25-18-4, 54 pts) have recorded a point in nine straight games (7-0-2) and will be represented at the All-Star Game by Joe Pavelski and Brent Burns. Pavelski (48) and Burns (41) rank first and second, respectively, on the club in points, while veteran Joe Thornton has recorded 23 points in his last 18 games. This is the third meeting of the season between the Avalanche and Sharks - each club has won on the road, including Colorado's 6-3 win in San Jose on Dec. 28. Randy Hahn (play-by-play) and McGuire ('Inside-the-Glass') will call the action from the SAP Center in San Jose.
