The Pinchgut Opera Presents GIASONE Tonight

Did you know that Cavalli's Giasone was the biggest selling show of the 17th-century? Revived a staggering 22 times in the first 50 years after its premiere, Giasoneenjoyed a mass appeal.

Why? Well, it could have been the masterful way composer Cavalli crafted together intrigue, love, lust and betrayal into agreat romantic comedy. As director Chas Rader-Shieber says, 'The greatest comedy hits closest to the bone.' Ouch. Ain't that the truth?

It may also have been audiences recognising themselves in this tale of one man and two women, bound together by confused feelings of lust and love, hope and despair.
