The Atlanta Opera will host its 24-Hour Opera Project Showcase on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 7 p.m. EST. Audiences can attend for free or tune in via LIVE WEBCAST.

Selected composers, lyricists, stage directors and opera singers -- randomly put into teams - have 24 hours to compose, stage and rehearse a 10-minute opera. Performances will be judged by a panel of judges and by the audience.

The public unable to attend the showcase can tune in to a LIVE WEBCAST at atlantaopera.org or Livestream.com and vote for the audience favorite.

The kick-off event will take place on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 5pm at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, 1328 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Ga. The showcase performance and LIVE WEBCAST are set for Saturday, January 26, 2012 at 7pm at The Atlanta Opera Center, 1575 Northside Drive, Bldg. 300, Suite 350, Atlanta, Ga.
