RHYMES WITH OPERA concludes its 2015-16 season with the world premiere screening of composer Ruby Fulton and librettist Baynard Woods' new full-length video opera Adam's Run. The opera is a dark comedy which takes place in a dystopic future world, where climate change has made the weather entirely chaotic and unpredictable. People are obsessed with watching the weather but predictions are impossible and two television show hosts vie for that market. When Julie visits the Reverend at his weather research outpost in South Carolina (nicknamed The Ark), each find themselves magnetically drawn to the other despite their ideological differences. Television producer Dana Daring tells their story, recalling the tale in a series of news magazine-style flashbacks.

ADAM'S RUN is a feature-length video opera that stars members of the RHYMES WITH OPERA ensemble alongside special guest artists and the RHYMES WITH ORCHESTRA. It marks the culmination of RWO's multi-year development of the work, which saw excerpts presented at The Actors Fund Theater in Brooklyn, the National Opera Center in New York, and the Waldorf School of Baltimore. The video production is helmed by Baltimore-based videographer Rachel Dwiggins and director Connor Kizer.

This world premiere screening, which will incorporate live performances by the cast for these performances only, takes place on May 20 and 21 at The Actors Fund Arts Center in Downtown Brooklyn.

RHYMES WITH OPERA (RWO) was formed in 2007 to perform innovative, dramatically vibrant contemporary chamber opera. The RWO ensemble is interested in finding new ways to tell stories through music across different genres. Rhymes With Opera performs operas created specifically for the group; to-date, RHYMES WITH OPERA has commissioned eleven composers to create custom-made pieces ranging from short character sketches to full, evening-length works.

ADAM'S RUN will be performed on Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 at 8 p.m. at The Actors Fund Arts Center, 160 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Tickets may be purchased at the Rhymes With Opera website, www.rhymeswithopera.org. The website also contains further information and musical previews of ADAM'S RUN.
