The enterprising and imaginative conductor Anthony Barrese will lead the American premiere of Amleto (Hamlet) with music by Franco Faccio and libretto by Arrigo Boito, based on Shakespeare's play, at Opera Southwest this Sunday afternoon, October 26th, at the Journal Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The performance will be streamed live on Classical KHFM starting at 3:00 P.M. CST, 4:00 P.M. EST, and 1:00 P.M. PST.

This performance is almost a decade in the making; Maestro Barrese worked painstakingly in collaboration with Casa Ricordi on piecing together the libretto and score. A concert version of the opera was presented by the Baltimore Concert Opera earlier this month.
