'Throwback Sizzling Jam' Concert Set for The Orleans Arena, 7/18

Five talented R&B artists will perform their classic hits on one stage during the "Throwback Sizzling Jam" at The Orleans Arena on July 18.

The lineup includes Guy, 112, Dru Hill, Silk and Shai, along with host and funny man, Speedy. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Celerity Schools, a nonprofit dedicated to creating and operating high quality schools that serve underserved communities in Los Angeles.

Formed in 1987, Guy later became early pioneers of the "new jack swing" sound of the late '80s and early '90s. The band, consisting of members Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall and Damion Hall, has released memorable hits including "'Round And 'Round (Merry-Go-Round of Love)," "Groove Me," "Teddy's Jam," "I Like" and "Spend the Night."

R&B quartet 112 is made up of members Quinnes "Q" Parker, Daron Jones, Marvin "Slim" Scandrick and Michael Keith. The group is known for hits such as "Only You", "Anywhere" and the Grammy-nominated single, "Peaches and Cream."

Multi-platinum R&B group Dru Hill has recorded seven Top 40 hits, including chart-topping hits "In My Bed," "Never Make a Promise" and "How Deep Is Your Love." Group members are Larry "Jazz" Anthony, Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin, Antwuan "Tao" Simpson and lead singer Mark "Sisqo" Andrews.

Best known for their hit singles "Freak Me" and "Happy Days" from their debut album "Lose Control," Silk has made an impact in the R&B industry. Members include Tim Cameron, Jimmy Gates, Gary "Big G" Glenn, Jonathen "John-John" Rasboro and Gary "Lil G" Jenkins.

The band Shai is best known for the track "If I Ever Fall in Love," which reached #2 on the Top 40 charts; "Comforter" and "Baby I'm Yours," which each peaked at #10. Band members are Darnell Van Rensailer, Garfeild Bright, Dwatne Jones and George Spencer III.
