On Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m. in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the New York Choral Society (NYCS) Chamber Singers presents American Tapestry, a program that explores the rich heritage of American music. The audience will delight in the secular music of William Billings, the choral works of Samuel Barber, beautifully arranged African American spirituals and the patriotic melodies of Charles Ives. Randall Thompson's The Testament of Freedom, composed in honor of the two hundredth anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth, will complete the evening.
