The Hot Sardines are Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and lead singer "Miz Elizabeth" Bougerol joined by a polished musical collective. The band's sophomore studio album, French Fries & Champagne, was released June 17 on Decca hitting #1 on both iTunes and Amazon Jazz Charts. Defying typical sales trends, the record increased sales in its second week, and climbed up the charts to #1 on the BIllboard Traditional Jazz Albums (from #5), #2 on the Billboard Current Jazz (from #6) and #10 on the Billboard Heatseekers (from #20).

Following a one-of-a-kind live performance at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show in Milan as well as a hometown throwdown at NYC's Central Park Summerstage, NPR Weekend Edition and WFUV appearances, the band continues to bring the captivating party to audiences across the nation. Before kicking off their national tour which sees them performing at Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival & more, fans in NYC can experience The Hot Sardines rousing live performance at several pop-up appearances around the New York area over the next week including:

Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue adoption event 7/9 @ 9-11am: Performance with a donation of all merch proceeds going to the Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. (Outside of The Hall at MP, 470 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn)

Busking Day at The Plaza Hotel 7/12 @ 1:30-2:30pm and 6-7pm: Two unique sets inside the iconic Plaza Hotel in stripped-down busking-style sophisticated splendor: 1:30pm in The Plaza Food Hall and 6pm cocktails at Palm Court. (768 5th Ave, NYC)

DUMBO Shake Shack performance in celebration of National French Fry Day, 7/13 @ 6-6:30pm: Special set during which Shake Shack will give away free fries. (1 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn)
Subway Busking, 7/18 @ 6-8pm: A return to the early Sardines days. (Union Square subway station, near N/R/Q entrance)

On French Fries & Champagne, the band effortlessly harkens back to a time of New York speakeasies, Parisian cabarets and New Orleans jazz halls, with striking originals such as album title track "French Fries & Champagne", as well as covers-including a mischievous take on "When I Get Low, I Get High," the video for which features the award-winning Alan Cumming. Produced by Eli Wolf (Elvis Costello, Norah Jones), the collection celebrates the duality of The Hot Sardines with the album title reflecting both their glamor and their grit.
