Steve Martin, Dolly Parton Receive International Bluegrass Music Award Nominations

The nominees for the 2011 International Bluegrass Music Awards (IBMA) have been announced. Sam Rush will host the awards ceremony, to be held on Thursday, September 29 at 7:30pm at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers have been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for "Rare Bird Alert" and Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year for the recording's title track. Martin has also received a nomination for his liner notes for the album.
Dolly Parton, along with The Grascals, has received a nomination for Song of the Year for "I Am Strong."

Dolly Parton's nearly five decade-long career has been one of great diversity, having earned her success as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, actress, author, and philanthropist. Known for such hits as "Coat Of Many Colors," "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You," and "9 To 5," Parton remains one of the most successful women in country music. She has been the recipient on many prestigious awards, including seven GRAMMY awards, CMA Entertainer of The Year, National Medal of Arts, and Kennedy Center Honors. In 2008 she released her most recent studio album, Backwoods Barbie, and recently wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical version of "9 To 5", based on the 1980 film in which she starred.

Steve Martin, one of the most diversified performers in the motion picture industry today has been successful as a writer and performer in some of the most popular movies of recent film history. Since the 1980s, having branched away from stand-up comedy, he has become a successful actor, playwright, pianist, banjo player, and juggler, eventually earning Emmy, Grammy, and American Comedy awards. He has starred in such films as: Cheaper by the Dozon, Bringin Down the House, and It's Complicated.
