Electronic, cerebral pop singer-songwriter, Solomon Ray (formally known as Solomon), announces the release of his new cover single, "Guess I'm Doing Fine" (Beck), from his forthcoming EP, Why Boys Cry dropping in 2016. Ray blends genres of rap and RnB with a modern twist of electronica and pop to create his conceptual, artistic sound. Listen to the track HERE.

Born in San Diego, CA to an African-American mother and Caucasian father, Ray made his musical debut in 2008 with two mixtapes selling more than 10,000 copies combined followed by the release of his debut EP, Shades of Black (2009). The release of the single, "Life Goes On," from Ray's 2011 sophomore effort, (The Love Rocker Project), lead to a media frenzy with Ray garnering press from the likes of MTV and LOGO's "NewNowNext: PopLab." In that same year, he also toured as the opening act for Deborah Cox. "The Way We Were" off Ray's latest EP, Le Garcon, charted as one of Vevo's top 5 RnB songs in 2014 and landed on iTunes as one of '2014's best new releases by a new artist.' He has also received accolades from Advocate, AltSounds, and NME. By summer 2014, Ray announced his retirement from music with his video "Crash Into You" where his 'death' is depicted on screen to symbolize his forthcoming 'rebirth.' Now, Solomon is announcing his resurrection as a transformed musician thus reintroducing himself to the industry as Solomon Ray. Moving away from his once polished image to a vulnerable, stripped-down stature, Ray celebrates his reincarnation as a more refined artist with Beck's "Guess I'm Doing Fine."

With a more mature outlook on the journey of artistic creation, Solomon Ray is currently writing and recording Why Boys Cry and cultivating new talent through his record label SolRay Records. In anticipation of his album release, Ray continues to consume himself in experimentation pushing past his comfort zone to showcase his musical versatility. Be on the lookout for more from Solomon Ray!
