Rising Hip-Hop Artist Xiuhtezcatl Drops Collab Track With Jaden Smith

Xiuhtezcatl (pronounced shoo-TEHZ-caht') or "X" debuts his newest track "Boombox Warfare" with Jaden Smith, today on Complex!

Xiuhtezcatl told Complex, "This song, this music is how we resist. Boombox Warfare is meant to be an anthem for youth empowerment. To serve as a reminder that the power of the people is more powerful than the people in power."

The smooth bass lines and even flow of the track's vibe is offset with Xiuhtezcatl's woke and provocative lyrics. Jaden Smith undeniable lyrical prowess adds a stunning layer both sonically and lyrically. Jaden reflects back on the project and comments, "X Is One of my favorite artist of this generation and I'm honored to work with him every chance I get."

He has become a voice for his generation, highlighted by his work with the Earth Guardians and his passion for youth empowerment. His work as an advocate for the youth and environment includes an address at the UNGA, TED Talks, interview by Bill Maher and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Currently, he is one of the faces and a spokesperson for Shepard Fairey's + Amplifier's #WeTheFuture campaign, and suing the U.S. government for violating our constitutional rights by perpetuating the climate crisis in the trial of the century - Juliana vs. the United States.
