London's red kite have released a new video for 'and yet you miss the sea' today, taken from their forthcoming album Racquet, released on November 3rd and available to pre-order via Blood at http://radi.al/Racquet.
"The idea for the video came from trawling through endless hours of old 8mm stock footage," explains singer/guitarist Daniel Fisher. "The real world tries to tempt you with start-ups, technology and fad diets, whilst rock music lures you into the waves, pounding you against the rocks until you're washed up on the surf, bloodied and sea-swept and grinning like a buffoon. The Russian translation of the lyrics seemed to work perfectly, almost taking on the air of a public service broadcast. That weird hover-thing over the guitar solo is apparently called an Avrocar. I just saw a strange, ridiculous scientific experiment and thought it mirrored a modern day music career all too well, tying into the themes of the song even more." New song 'and yet you miss the sea' is the second single taken from Racquet. The album seethes and writhes. It grasps for truth, rejects the false, and uses anger - controlled and directed - as its energy. It's the kind of record that gives "indie rock" that much maligned label, a good name. Racquet is the kind of album that demands attention be paid, and rewards that attention with glorious melodies that offer joy to sweeten the pill.Watch video:
