Phillip Phillips Hits Number One on Adult Contemporary Chart

Philip Phillips joins an elite group of legendary singers as he becomes only the ninth male artist to hit number one, twice, in Adult Contemporary listings with his first two entries into the charts, Billboard reports. 'Gone, Gone, Gone' and 'Home' have netted Phillips the title and a place among music's legends.

The singer is just the second to do so since 1999 when AC adopted Nielsen data. Josh Groban accomplished this feat in 2002.

Since the chart's launch in 1961 only eight other male artists have accomplished what Phillips has. Check out his fellow singers who have accomplished the task:
