Noshir Mody's "Stories From the Years of Living Passionately" has been nominated in the Jazz Instrumental Album in the 14th Annual Independent Music Awards.

Mody writes, "This nomination is particularly significant for me considering the other remarkable and imaginative works also selected within this category."

Mody continued, "As an IMA nominee for the album "Stories from the Years of Living Passionately", I had the opportunity to discuss my thoughts on the music industry, our fans and new projects." Read the full interview here.

He added, "I'm thrilled to be working on a new project with a sextet also featuring Paul Tafoya (trumpet), Mike Mullan (alto and tenor saxophone), Ben Rosenblum (piano/keys), John Lenis (bass) & Yutaka Uchida (drums). The group has already performed at the Whynot Jazz Room (West Village, New York) and The Shrine (Harlem, New York) and we are looking forward to our next performance on Sat May 2nd at Silvana (Harlem, New York).

"Also this summer, I'm excited to be taking the sextet to the 2015 MUSIKFEST in Bethlehem PA where we will be performing at the National Penn Bank Jazz Cabaret Stage.
