"If you really love fiddle music, there are performances here that are nothing short of jaw dropping ... performances that will raise you up and performances that will leave you misty eyed, "The Guardian, UK

The first family of Celtic fiddlers, the husband and wife duo, Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, bring their show 'From Ireland to Cape Breton & Beyond' to Webster Hall this coming St Patrick's Day. The fierce fiddlers command the stage with an explosive celebration of raw energy and passion that infuses their traditional heritage with their taste for the contemporary. With this show Natalie and Donnell will blend the legendary musical traditions of Ireland with that of their hometowns of Lakefield Ontario and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The show is a family affair including special performances with their children and highlights the unique talents, influences and stories of this amazing, growing clan through dancing, singing and, of course, world-class music making.

To fans of fiddle music, Natalie MacMaster needs no introduction. With a recording career spanning 25 years, this 'Order of Canada' recipient has released 11 albums that have sold over 200,000 copies. She has won two JUNO and eleven East Coast Music Awards and has been nominated for a Grammy. She is in great demand as a charismatic performer and has collaborated with artists as diverse as Yo-Yo Ma (on the Grammy-winning album Songs of Joy & Peace), Alison Krauss, Jesse Cook, and Bela Fleck. Though acknowledging that she can be "...a musical chameleon," Natalie stresses that, above all else, "I play Cape Breton fiddle."

Donnell Leahy is no stranger to the awards podium himself. He is the oldest brother of the internationally-acclaimed family musical group Leahy, winners of three JUNO Awards. Widely recognized as one of the best Celtic fiddlers in the world, his high-energy playing style also makes him a highly popular performer.

The show will be opened by renowned folk guitarist, Tim Edey. Tim is a multi-instrumentalist and singer who has toured the world and recorded with most of the major names in Celtic/Folk music including: The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Natalie MacMaster, Altan, Stockton's Wing, and Capercaillie.
