NEWSICAL THE MUSICAL Original Cast Recording Available On iTunes

"Sexting". "Felt Up At The Airport". "Liza Meets Gaga". Audiences can now own all the hits from the newest edition of the Drama Desk-nominated comedy revue Newsical the Musical: Full Spin Ahead by heading to iTunes and purchasing the original cast recording.

The announcement was made today by Tom D'Angora, producer of Newsical.

With a cast featuring Drama Desk nominee and Sirius Radio host Christine Pedi, Drama Desk nominee Christina Bianco, Michael West, John Walton West, Amy Griffin and Tommy Walker, the 26-track album features composer-lyricist Rick Crom's signature take on all the most talked-about topics of the past year, from Mel Gibson to Don't Ask Don't Tell, from the Palins to the BP scandal, from Oprah's final season to the return of Pee Wee Herman and much more.

The album features Pedi's renowned impressions of everyone from Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers and Barbra Streisand to Julie Andrews, Elaine Stritch and Angela Lansbury.

As a bonus, the album includes three songs from the 2009 edition of Newsical performed by The Book of Mormon's Rory O'Malley - "The Underwear Bomber", "Balloon Boy" and "Restless Leg Syndrome".

The album, priced at $9.99, is produced by Tom D'Angora and engineered, mixed and mastered by Carl Casella and Bob Hanlon of Sound Associates.

NEWSical: Full Spin Ahead began previews on December 13, 2010 with a January 9, 2011 opening at The Kirk at Theatre Row.

Rick Crom received two Drama Desk nominations for his work on NEWSical. He appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose and The Goodbye Girl.

Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy) directs an ensemble that includes two-time Drama Desk-nominee Leslie Kritzer (Sondheim on Sondheim, Legally Blonde, A Catered Affair) through April 23, Christina Bianco (Drama Desk nominee, Forbidden Broadway), Michael West (Forbidden Broadway, When Pigs Fly), John Walton West (Drowsy Chaperone national tour, The Producers national tour), Amy Griffin (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and Tommy Walker (Evil Dead). Christine Pedi returns to the cast on April 24.

Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), Josh Starr (lighting designer), David Kaley (costume designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).
