Music Health Alliance (MHA) is adding new services to its mission to Protect, Direct and Connect music industry entrepreneurs and professionals with life-changing medical and financial solutions. In addition to offering guidance and access to State and Federal Health Insurance options, connecting qualified individuals with financial and medical resources, serving as a personal advocate and mitigating the financial barriers to access needed health care, the 501c3 announces a new resource to better serve music industry veterans through the challenges of the aging process.

"As so many know, fame does not always equal fortune. At a time when seniors need help the most, they are often plagued with physical and financial difficulties they never anticipated. At MHA, we are there so those seniors will never feel alone or forgotten for their contributions," said Shelia Shipley Biddy, MHA's Director of Operations and Certified Senior Advisor.

Shelia Shipley Biddy, MHA's Director of Operations & Senior Care, has received the designation of Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). The CSA title is earned through a series of comprehensive courses and testing administered by the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA). The CSA designation, in conjunction with more than 35 years of experience in the music industry, enables Biddy to uniquely serve music industry seniors and their families with an educated response to the challenges and opportunities seniors face. All of Music Health Alliance's services are 100% free to the individual, relying entirely on grants and donations to fund its services and operations.

"We have seen explosive growth in the need for healthcare navigation among our senior population and Shelia Shipley Biddy has discovered and initiated the best way to meet this need," says Tatum Hauck Allsep, MHA's Founder & Executive Director.

The need for educated professionals who are able to cater to the unique health, social and financial needs of seniors is increasing as our country's Baby Boomer population reaches retirement age, and improvements in healthcare allow people to live longer. As a Certified Senior Advisor, Shelia Shipley Biddy has received unique education and training that compliments her professional skills to better serve the growing senior demographic. She is also required to participate in continuing education to ensure she is well educated on the changes and updates that affect the music industry.

"Since I joined Music Health Alliance, I have seen a growing need to guide those within our industry as they near the time when they will receive Medicare. Many of our industry veterans work well beyond their retirement age, creating challenges for companies who are not geared to guide their employees outside their normal health insurance group plans. Mistakes can be made and they are often costly to the individual. With this new certification, I am better prepared to explain options and guide them to qualified resources," said Shelia Shipley Biddy.
