Following his Millennium Concert at the Pyramids of Gizeh in Egypt in front of an audience of 800 thousand people, the Concert for Tolerance at the Eiffel Tower in Paris with 2.5 million people in the audience, Rendez-Vous Houston-his tribute concert in Texas for NASA with 1.3 million people attending, and celebrating the 850th anniversary of Moscow with his largest concert ever in front of 3.5 million people, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE chose his upcoming destination to be MASADA where his unique and specially conceived live event aims to raise international awareness of the Dead Sea's dire situation. Mr. Dov Litvinoff, head of the Tamar Regional Council where the Dead Sea is located, states, "The choice of an artist of this caliber, with such a flawless worldwide reputation in giving some of the world's most spectacular concert-events, to create and to hold a one-off concert here in Israel, at the Dead Sea, to raise mass public awareness, is unprecedented and exciting. The fact that such artist recognizes the importance and expresses a sincere concern for the dire situation of the Dead Sea by coming here to help promote this issue internationally is extremely appreciated. A UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador of ecology and the environment, Jean-Michel Jarre brings with him a patronage of UNESCO organization and a call for urgent actions. This empowering act of support is crucial and may very well help us save this national and international asset, one of the world's natural wonders - the Dead Sea."
