The lineup for Holiday Cheer for FUV, the benefit concert for WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) at the Beacon Theatre on December 10, 2013 at 8 p.m. has gotten even stronger. The public radio station announced today that Beth Orton and Amos Lee will join Iron & Wine and Friends, also including Calexico, Nick Lowe, Kathleen Edwards and Glen Hansard.

"The whole idea behind this concert is a once-in-a-lifetime evening of collaborations," said WFUV Program Director Rita Houston. "These are all artists who have a connection with Sam Beam and with each other. With Calexico as house band, they'll spread their wings and perform in a bunch of different combinations."

British singer-songwriter Beth Orton has earned critical acclaim and several Mercury Prize nominations for her innovative music. Working with William Orbit and The Chemical Brothers on her early albums, she created a fusion sometimes dubbed "folktronica." She went on to work with Ryan Adams and recorded her fifth studio album, 2012's Sugaring Session, in Portland, Oregon with Tucker Martine, known for his work with The Decemberists. Her songs have been heard in television shows such as Felicity, Dawson's Creek, and Grey's Anatomy.

Philadelphia-born Amos Lee was a schoolteacher and bartender before making a career in music. A four-song demo showcasing his warm and soulful songs led to his being signed to Blue Note Records, which has released all five of his albums. The fourth, Mission Bell, produced by Joey Burns of Calexico, debuted at Number One on Billboard in 2011 and featured guest artists including Lucinda Williams and Sam Beam. His most recent, Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song, came out in October of this year. Amos' songs have also appeared on TV shows, including Parenthood.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster Charge By Phone (1-866-858-0008), all Ticketmaster Outlets and www.beacontheatre.com, as well as the Beacon Theatre box office. Holiday Cheer for FUV is produced in conjunction with MSG Entertainment and is supported by Fairway Market.
