Interscope Records has announced that it has signed Australian singer and songwriter Jarryd James to its roster. His debut single, "Do You Remember," is out now in the U.S. via all digital partners. James co-wrote "Do You Remember" with Joel Little (Lorde, Broods), who also produced the track.

The Brisbane-based James has emerged as one of Australia's most promising new artists, touring with Broods and Angus & Julia Stone, and launching his own summer headlining tour back home, which sold out immediately. A compelling blend of progressive R&B, ambient beats, and neo-soul, James' self-released "Do You Remember" climbed to No. 1 on the Australian iTunes Singles chart, No. 1 on the Shazam Chart, became the No.1 most played song on Australian radio nationwide, andNo. 2on theARIATopSingles chart. "Do You a Remember" has already sold well in excess of Platinum statusin Australia.Watch the official video HERE.

A compelling advocate for the new minimalism in R&B, James favors the philosophy that less is more and form and function are everything. It's an approach he's honed though a lifelong love for the craft of songwriting, which has seen him explore the works of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Outkast, Boyz II Men, Blackstreet, and more recently Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt. "I like to do things in an understated way," James says. "I'd rather not give too much away." Reacting to the ornate maximalist pop and red-lined EDM that dominates mainstream music, he uses voice and sparse structures to remind his listeners of what really matters.
