Global Music Contest Project: Aloft Star Amps up to Find Star of Tomorrow

The sound of this summer is going to come from the concerts of Demi Lovato, Fall Out Boy, and Shawn Mendes. But what about the sound of next summer and beyond?

The Project: Aloft Star contest is kicking off to find the next big star in music, not just here in the U.S., but all over the world. Aloft Hotels is teaming up with Universal Music Group on a global initiative that will identify and elevate the hottest emerging and breakthrough musical talent of tomorrow.

The Project: Aloft Star 2018 winner will have the opportunity to record a single at the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood. As well as this, the winner will have access to one-on-one mentoring from UMG executives to help guide them through the early stages of their career, as well as 500,000 Rewards Points for Marriott International hotel stays to help facilitate their life on the road - making this contest is unlike any other opportunity out there right now.

To inspire emerging talent to enter this year's competition, Aloft Hotels is taking some of UMG's hottest breakthrough artists on the road, hitting the great music cities in North and Central America to host intimate music performances in the brand's signature WXYZ bars.

A nationwide media tour featuring Toni Stoeckl, Global Brand Leader, Aloft Hotels
and Eric Wong, Executive Vice President and GM of Island Records, part of Universal Music Group, took place live from the Aloft Long Island City-Manhattan View Hotel in conjunction with N*E*R*D S Simon Media and YourUpdateTV.

Highlighting the media tour were Stoeckl and Wong informing the nationwide audience about:

  • The unique partnership between Aloft Hotels and Universal Music Group
  • How hopefuls could enter the contest
  • Ways to attend concerts and performances at WXYZ bars
  • How to experience music locally at Aloft Hotels
