PRX's Radiotopia, the podcast network behind 99% Invisible, Criminal and the newly launched ZigZag, is pleased to announce its latest offering, Everything is Alive, an unscripted interview show in which all the interviewees are inanimate objects. Besides the fact that the objects are talking, everything in the podcast is true.

Created by Ian Chillag, senior producer of Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me! and co-creator of the podcast How To Do Everything, the show interviews inanimate objects (things) about their daily life and their interactions with humans and the world. Occasionally real people join in to add something to the conversation.

" At first, it feels weird that you're hearing directly from an inanimate object," Chillag says. "But then it feels weird that it's not weird that a bandaid named Jennifer, or a lamppost named Maeve, is telling you about her life."

In season one, for example, listeners will hear from Mel, a mousetrap having second thoughts about the work she does; Tara, a bar of soap; Maeve, a lamppost who does a lot of people-watching; and Sean, a subway seat who loves his job. As the saying, "if these walls could talk" goes, these things do talk. And as Louis--a can of cola--says, "it's a gift to get to be anything at all."

Radiotopia executive producer Julie Shapiro predicts that Everything is Alive will offer something brand new to podcast fans. "Everything is Alive is equal parts delightful and intelligent. Ian and his guests offer comedic philosophy and keen cultural insight, punctuated by moments of unexpected profundity and laugh out loud truths about how we live, and the "things" we live with."

Everything is Alive will release bi-weekly on Tuesdays. Each season will consist of 10 episodes. Follow along at Twitter and Facebook.
