Twenty-two year-old piano sensation Alice Sara Ott expands her recorded repertoire on Deutsche Grammophon with this all-new recording of the first piano concertos of both Tchaikovsky and Liszt. Alice's previous two DG recordings of Chopin and Liszt recitals were met with critical and popular acclaim, and the pianist now presents herself in two explosive and technically demanding works. Alice is joined by Thomas Hengelbrock and the Münchner Philharmoniker for the recording, available October 25, 2010.

Alice Sara Ott's first recording released in the US, Chopin: Complete Waltzes, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Classical Traditional Chart and grabbed the attention of critics across the nation. Her highly personal rendition of these staples of the piano repertoire proved an ideal introduction to her art. She followed up with a technically breath-taking account of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes this past summer. For her third Deutsche Grammophon release Alice makes her first recording of concertos.

Alice Sara Ott made her US orchestral debut earlier this year in Cincinnati and follows-up with her San Francisco Symphony debut October 28-30 performing Liszt's First Concerto. Of the performance in Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Enquirer proclaimed: "In the first half, Ott displayed stunning technique in Liszt's Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major. The pianist, of German and Japanese heritage, is an immense talent who effortlessly tackled cascades of glittering runs and was able to summon beautiful sonorities as she did it." The perfect introduction to her explosive artistry, the Liszt concerto is also featured on her new recording.

Paired with Liszt is Tchaikovsky's popular first concerto. Famous not only in concert halls but also in movies and popular culture, the work is given a fresh interpretation by Alice. Her highly personal performance gives the audience a chance to hear the work as if for the first-time. The recording of the Tchaikovsky concerto is a live recording on this album and Alice's extra enthusiasm while performing in front of an audience gives the entire performance added energy and intensity.

Alice Sara Ott has gained great critical acclaim for her performances at major concert halls worldwide. At the age of thirteen, Alice was hailed the "Most Promising Artist" at the Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition, and two years later she went on to take the top prize at the Silvio Bengalli International Piano Competition as the youngest contestant.

Recent engagements have brought Alice into collaboration with the NDR Sinfonieorchester, Münchner Philharmoniker, hr-Sinfonieorchester and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; recent tours have included appearances with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra under Sakari Oramo.

Forthcoming orchestral debuts include concerts with the MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, Bamberger Symphoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, San Francisco Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National and Philharmonia orchestras, as well as return visits to the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and Malaysian Philharmonic orchestras.

Recital highlights during the 2010/11 season include appearances at the Lucerne Festival, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Festival van Vlaanderen in Brussels and a substantial tour of major Japanese cities.

In addition to her solo activities Alice is a keen chamber musician and makes regular appearances at festivals in Heimbach, Zurich, Davos and Schwetzingen alongside artists such as Lars Vogt, Gustav Rivinius, Tadjana Masurenko and Peter Sadlo. Alice also frequently appears in recital at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Braunschweig Classix Festival.

In 2008 Alice Sara Ott signed an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. Her highly successful debut recording featuring Liszt's 12 Études d'exécution transcendante was quickly followed by a second album encompassing the complete waltzes of Frédéric Chopin - an album which entered both the German and US Classical iTunes charts at No.1.

Alice was recently awarded the prize for Young Artist of the Year at the Klassik Echo Awards. A student of Professor Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at Mozarteum Salzburg in 2000, Alice now resides in Munich.
