U.K. breakout artist RATIONALE has announced the upcoming release of his self-titled debut album, due out on October 6 via Warner Bros. Records. Speaking exclusively with Entertainment Weekly about the album, he said, "People think of my music as quite atmospheric and chill, but there are elements that I've wanted to put out for a long time that feel powerful - just great pop songs. There are definitely some bangers on there for sure." The first of those is new single "Loving Life," a playfully unpredictable track inspired by the arrival of summer that Rationale hopes will be "something that people could really dance to." "Loving Life" is available as an instant grat when you pre-order the album now.

RATIONALE's self-titled - and self-produced - debut features select highlights of his career to date - including the 14 million-streamed smash "Fast Lane," the towering live anthem "Deliverance," and the emotional intensity of "Prodigal Son," alongside a wealth of new material. In addition to "Loving Life," other new highlights include "Oil and Water" - a sumptuous blend of dramatic pop dynamics, modernist production embellishments and a foot in tradition with gospel-inspired vocal harmonies - and the percussive march of "Phenomenal," which finds RATIONALE's tender, emotive phrasing conveying a revealing fragility.
After breaking out with "Fast Lane" in 2015, the Zimbabwe-born, London-based RATIONALE quickly began to prosper under the radar, touring with Bastille, playing a number of sell-out U.K., European and U.S. tours, and captivating at leading festivals from Glastonbury to Reading & Leeds. His music has already earned him over 34 million listens on Spotify, Hype Machine No. 1s, support from influential fans such as Pharrell Williams and Elton John, and press love from Noisey, The Hype, and Pigeons & Planes, who say "Rationale has been killing it left, right, and center." Last year, he made his television debut with show-stealing performances of "Fast Lane" and "Fuel To The Fire" on Later... With Jools Holland.Possessing a gift for songwriting which allows him to push the boundaries of R&B, pop and soul while also presenting an intriguing worldview in his lyrics, RATIONALE has also become an in-demand collaborator, penning songs for Rag'n'Bone Man, Nause, and Katy Perry.
RATIONALE has announced his biggest U.K. tour to date for this October. See iamrationale.com for a full list of dates.
