Brad Cole's passionate delivery of roots-based folk music, woven with the grit and groove of old school bossa and rhythm & blues moves the listener's soul in a direction that is unexpected, yet perfectly familiar. Cold releases Lay It Down this Friday, April 15 but our friends at Glide Magazine have the advance stream of the album along with a Q&A with Brad ahead of the release.

Glide calls Lay It Down, "A melange of colorful musical styles from lounge jazz to classy, Nick Lowe-esque power pop... one of the most beautiful, charming albums you will hear this year." Red Line Roots spoke to Brad and said of his fourth LP, "Recorded in East Nashville, Lay It Down masterfully takes listeners from the familiar spaces of reflective, lyric-driven folk music to the expansive reaches of bossa nova jazz. It's a beautiful album." Teaming up with producer Joe McMahan and a veteran cast of musicians, Cole's latest effort marks his most soulfully eclectic and creatively cohesive release yet.

This past weekend, Cole began his full-band release tour in Chicago, which hits Nashville tomorrow and New York City next week. He'll be on the road into the summer with different incarnations of his trio. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
