Bodhi Tree Concerts, a San Diego pioneer of arts organizations partnering with and donating to charities, now in its fourth year of philanthropy through the arts, presents a concert featuring local jazz greats Irving Flores and Gilbert Castellanos in a program of Latin jazz to Benefit ArtReach San Diego and ArtsBusXpress. Opening the concert will be the aspiring musicians of Mariachi Chula Vista.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at bodhitreeconcerts.org.

Bodhi Tree Concerts performs random acts of kindness by presenting music events, donating 100 percent of its profits to charitable causes. The group hires exclusively local artists, to inspire community engagement, philanthropy, and enlightenment through local music.

Mama's Kitchen writes: "Bodhi Tree Concerts is a truly worthwhile organization. Not only do they bring joy to the community through music, they also generously donate the proceeds of their concerts to charities both locally and globally. Mama's Kitchen has been the recipient of their generosity on more than one occasion. By supporting Mama's Kitchen, Bodhi Tree Concerts has provided hundreds of home-delivered meals to folks in San Diego County who are battling life-threatening illnesses."

Irving Flores is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger, and music producer, and has 36 years of experience as a professional musician. Flores has been the pianist, arranger, and musical director for some of the greatest performers in Latin America: Armando Manzanero, Willie Colon, Tania Libertad, Eugenia Leon, and Paulina Rubio, performing and touring in Europe, the U.S.A, and Central and South America.

Southern California trumpet virtuoso Gilbert Castellanos makes music that sounds effortless. Skilled with impressive dexterity and control, his clarity of expression moves listeners on a deeply emotional level. Recognized as a new American master by Downbeat magazine, Castellanos has established himself as one of the nation's most inventive improvisers in stirring live performances as a member of the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Anthony Wilson Nonet, Charles McPherson Quintet, Willie Jones III Quintet, and as leader of his own groups.

On hundred percent of the profits from this concert will be donated to ArtReach San Diego and ArtsBusXpress. ArtReach San Diego believes that all youngsters, regardless of socioeconomic status, benefit from the opportunity to practice creative thinking and creative doing. ArtsBusXpress works to ensure San Diego city and county school teachers have transportation to take students on cultural field trips to arts, science, and technology venues and experiences.

This concert marks the second production of Bodhi Tree Concerts' fourth season. The organizations has already presented 14 concerts and donated thousands of dollars to 14 charitable organizations including Mama's Kitchen, Voices for Children, Erase Poverty, and Foundation for Women, just to name a few. Bodhi Tree Concerts won a coveted San Diego Bravo Award in 2013, a Best of Fringe Award in 2014, and a Best of 2014 from SanDiegoStory.com.
