Born in London to a Jamaican father and British mother, Mark Shine spent his younger years growing up in the sunny picturesque island paradise of Jamaica. A desire to marry the styles of artists like Lionel Richie, Billy Ocean, Azwad , Dennis Brown, and Jimmy Cliff inspired him to form Rocsta Society – a group whose music expresses a spirit of unity and love that transcends boundaries. Shine's colorful fusion of urban, contemporary rock, and reggae flavors produces irresistible melodies, readily felt and embraced by all who have been touched by his vibe. After television and radio appearances, as well as performances on multiple local Media Houses, Shine and his band have returned to New York City to enhance and develop a sound that is truly a genre of its own.

Guitarist Will Bernard has covered a great deal of ground during his career, both musically and geographically. The Berkeley, CA, native made his recording debut with multi-instrumentalist Peter Apfelbaum's culture-fusing Hieroglyphics Ensemble on Don Cherry's 1989 Multikulti album. Since then, Bernard has on to perform and record with Charlie Hunter, RoBert Walter, John Medeski, and Stanton Moore; hip-hop group The Coup; reggae band Groundation; legends like Dr. John, Booker T, Bernie Worrell, Zigaboo Modeliste, and Dr. Lonnie Smith; renowned rock eccentric Tom Waits; and myriad others. He was also a member of the Grammy-nominated group T.J. Kirk, alongside Charlie Hunter. In addition to his work as a collaborator, Bernard has amassed a formidable discography as a leader, stretching from his 1998 debut Medicine Hat through 2008's Blue Plate Special and his latest release, Outdoor Living (2012).

Young Joo Song is one of Korea's leading jazz pianists. After graduating from Berklee College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, she was able to quickly climb South Korea's jazz charts, earning multiple opportunities to perform with prominent American and Korean jazz artists. Song's prompt rise in the jazz world has enabled her to record eight albums with distinguished labels such as EMI, Warner, and Sony. She has won numerous awards, including a Best Jazz Performance accolade from the 2012 Korean Music Awards for her latest album Tale of a City (2011). Song has recorded and performed with numerous legendary jazz musicians, including StEve Wilson, Mark Turner, Gretchen Parlato, Kendrick Scott, and Marcus Gilmore. She continues to expand her love and knowledge of jazz, aiming to share her passion with audiences on a global scale.

Bassist extraordinaire Reggie Washington celebrates the release of his second CD Freedom on the Jammin’colorS label. A bassist of rare sobriety and efficacy, his music is marked by savant bass lines, exigency, and unmistakable musical taste. He was a participant in the modern jazz revolution of the '90s, and his list of collaborations is virtually infinite. Aside from holding down the groove for Steve Coleman's Five Elements, Washington has played for such notable groups as Roy Hargrove's RH Factor, Branford Marsalis's Buckshot LeFonque, and the Oliver Lake Steel Quartet. His extensive list of credits include work with Babatunde Olatunje, Mighty Sparrow, Cassandra Wilson, Chico Hamilton, Meshell Ndegeocello, Lester Bowie, and Don Byron. He has also toured with his bands through Europe and the U.S. to very receptive and appreciative audiences.
