BWW Reviews: Theatre Rock at B.B. Kings 'Rocks the House'

On Tuesday night, March 11, Theatre Rock, the unique musical rock group, performed show tunes to delight and excite the crowd at B.B Kings on 42nd Street in New York City. With the talent of outstanding vocalists and instrumentalists, Theatre Rock performed some of Broadway's best know hits, and their renditions were excellent.

Theatre Rock is a band that pays tribute to the "Rock Musical" genre. Songs from over 40 years of Broadway rock shows are presented in their live concert performances.

Audiences of all ages have been captivated by Theatre Rock's distinctive music format. This multi-talented group presents a real rock concert with songs that are renowned and celebrated. They have performed throughout the New York metropolitan area.

The band's March 11th show at B. B. Kings featured Joe Andolino, Musical Director on keyboards, Kosaku Nakamura on guitar, Jason Gianni on drums and Andrew Rosciszewki on bass. The vocalists included Danny Gershaw, Lindsay Lavin, Daniel Peter Vissers, and Shanna-Levine-Phelps. The singers proved to have real versatility and worked seamlessly with the band to perform their selections perfectly.

The performance included a remarkable variety of hits like Aquarius, Pinball Wizard, Fame and Who Loves You. Not only did Theatre Rock's style do total justice to their selections, but their energy and enthusiasm for performing was evident. They connected with ease to their audience at B.B. Kings and really "rocked the house."
