As Seen In: "Anything Goes," "Jersey Boys," "Ghost," "Grease," "Legally Blonde"

Latest Project: Bobby Child in Crazy For You at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival

Writing Process: It varies from song to song. I often begin with an idea or situation that people can related to and go from there. However, sometimes it's just a hook on the piano or guitar, sometimes it's words inspired by people in my life and sometimes a song hits me in the middle of the night and I have to get up and sing it into my phone so I won't forget it by morning haha.

Musical Point of View: Having started out as a musician first, I'd say most of my songs, though catchy, aren't always predictable. I also bridge the gap between many styles including jazz, pop, folk, and country. I don't like the idea of limiting myself musically to fit into a marketable box.

Song that defines you: I doubt that any one song can define me...I'm a pretty moody person haha. I certainly have songs that describe the person I am capable of being, for better or for worse. I enjoy exploring some of the ugly sides of myself. However, there's a song on the album I'm currently working on called, "Masterpiece." It's about the possibility of something, someone, some relationship and all of the things it could become. I'd like to think that that sense of hope, the idea that something could turn into a masterpiece might define me. It certainly keeps me going.

Music influences: Rufus Wainwright, A Great Bug World, Joe Purdy, Jamestown Revival, James Blake, Grace Potter, Brett Dennen, Ingrid Michaelson, Leon Redbone, Elton John...I could go on and on
