A true American institution whose iconic pop, country and gospel hits helped to shape a generation, B.J. Thomas will perform at the Suncoast Showroom March 28 and 29.
In 1966, B.J. Thomas and The Triumphs released the album "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," featuring a hit cover of the Hank Williams song of the same name. The single sold more than one million copies. In 1968, Thomas released the album "The Eyes of a New York Woman," then five months later produced the hit, "Hooked on a Feeling," on the album "On My Way." The track became Thomas's second million-selling record. Throughout his career, Thomas has collaborated with numerous guest artists in different genres, including pop icon Richard Marx ("Hey Won't You Play Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song)," country legend Vince Gill ("I Just Can't Help Believing"), bluesman Keb' Mo' ("Most of All"), Lyle Lovett ("Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head"), Isaac Slade, lead singer of The Fray ("I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry") and popular contemporary standards singer Steve Tyrell ("Rock and Roll Lullaby").Videos
