Gene & Shelley Enlow Recital Hall (Enlow Hall) at Kean University Spring 2014 season features The Avery Sharpe Jazz Sextet on Saturday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m.

In a moving performance, bassist-composer Avery Sharpe recalls the struggle and contributions of the African American abolitionist and women's right activist Sojourner Truth. "Ain't I A Woman" is a not-to-be-missed concert based on Truth's life and her famous speech for woman suffrage in 1851.

The Jazz Sextet features Duane Eubanks - trumpet; Tina Fabique - vocals, Jimmy Greene - saxophone, Onaje Allan Gumbs - piano, Yoron Israel - drums and Avery Sharpe - bass.
