Adam Green & Sam Fermin to Play NYU Skirball as Part of Big Red Chair Series, 3/29

NYU Skirball Center has announced the second Big Red Chair Kidrockers concert on Saturday, March 29. The concert will feature New York icon Adam Green (The Moldy Peaches) and indie darlings San Fermin. Comedians Seth Herzog ("Late Night with Jimmy Fallon") and Craig Baldo ("Last Comic Standing") host the event.

Kidrockers will debut at the Big Red Chair series this Saturday, February 8 with Caveman and pizza-themed Velvet Underground tribute band The Pizza Underground (Macaulay Culkin + friends).

The performance begins at 11:30AM and there will be educational music activity in the lobby of the venue beginning at 10:30AM. The event is welcome to all ages and recommended for ages 3-13. Adults must be accompanied by a child. Tickets are available for $28 at www.NYUSkirball.org.

Kids and their parents will be given the unique opportunity to experience an authentic and "of the moment" rock show in the comfort of a world class performing arts center in the heart of Greenwich Village.

ADAM GREEN is a singer-songwriter, artist and filmmaker. Green is well known for being one-half of The Moldy Peaches, whose song "Anyone Else But You" was featured on the Juno soundtrack, which reached No 1 on the US Billboard Charts. A brilliant, charming and highly engaging live performer, Green has toured the world extensively with bands like The Strokes and Cribs and recently completed a series of sold out shows throughout Europe.

"A classic, timeless feel, with Green's crooning and unique lyrical approach setting him head and shoulders above most other singer/songwriters." Drowned in Sound (10/10 review of Friends Of Mine)

"Definitely not your typical singer/songwriter, Adam Green is so much more than that, and this album has a classic, timeless feel to it, brilliantly drawing from divergent musical traditions (much like the Gershwins in that respect), twisting from them an unique but incredibly familiar sound. . . a masterpiece." All Music (review of Jacket Full of Danger)

SAN FERMIN

A pastiche of post-rock, chamber-pop and contemporary classical composition, San Fermin is the work of Brooklyn composer and songwriter Ellis Ludwig-Leone -- and is also a nine person touring ensemble. After finishing his musical studies at Yale, Ludwig-Leone wrote the band's Downtown Records debut in six weeks while holed up in a studio on the mountainous border between Alberta and British Columbia.
