The film 'Never Let Me Go' will open the 2010 BFI London Film Festival on October 13, NME reports.  'Never Let Me Go' is adopted from a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, author of 'The Remains of the Day.'

The film, which is directed by Mark Romanek and features a screenplay by Alex Garland, stars Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley, and Andrew Garfield.  The film follows the lives of Kathy (Mulligan), Ruth (Knightley), and Tommy (Garfield), who met as students at a mysterious boarding school.  Mulligan, Knightley, and Garfield will likely attend the screening, which will mark the film's first showing in Europe.

The Festival will announce complete programming on September 8.

Carey Mulligan played Nina in THE SEAGULL in London and on Broadway.  Her film credits include 'An Education,' for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, as well as 'Brothers,' 'Public Enemies,' and 'Pride and Prejudice.'

Keira Knightley made her theatre debut in THE MISANTHROPE.  Her film credits include 'Pride and Prejudice,' for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, as well as 'The Dutchess,' 'Atonement,' the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films, and 'Bend It Like Beckham.'

Andrew Garfield's stage credits include KES and ROMEO AND JULIET.  His film credits include 'Lions for Lambs,' 'The Other Boleyn Girl,' and 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,' and he will appear in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
