It was announced today that Juno-nominated Basia Bulat has made the short list for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize for her third studio album, Tall Tall Shadow. This is the second time the Toronto-based singer-songwriter has been on the short list, previously nominated in 2008 for Oh, My Darling.

The short list represents the consensus of 190 Canadian journalists, media hosts and music critics. By its inclusion, Tall Tall Shadow is officially one of the 10 best Canadian records of the year. In 2013, Tall Tall Shadow was named Album of the Year by Huffington Post Canada and was nominated for a Juno Award. Both Bulat and the album were nominated in six categories at the Sirius XM Indie Awards, where she won Female Artist of the Year.

The announcement comes just days after Bulat realized her dream of performing her own songs on the Massey Hall stage. Exclaim! described the performance as "breathtaking" and Now Magazine declared her a "master of instruments, both familiar and not."

Bulat will be appearing on festival stages throughout Canada and Europe this summer, and will also be joining Bahamas on their tour across the U.S. in October (see dates below).
