URBO, a one-of-a kind culinary destination that is a celebration of New York City's look, feel and food, is debuting two features today: Bar URBO, the second floor lounge complete with a sophisticated cocktail program by Dutch Kills' head bartender Jan Warren, and lunch service at URBO Kitchens, the first floor restaurant that opened for dinner last week.

URBO, located on the bustling corner of Eighth Avenue and 42nd Street, is spread out over two stories and 26,000 square feet. The first floor is home to the aforementioned URBO Kitchens, as well as a coffee shop (URBO Grind) and a retail store (URBO Supply). Now guests can take a trip up the spiral staircase to visit Bar URBO.

Bar URBO's menu is as stylish and sophisticated as its décor, which features marble countertops and leather green bar chairs. There are both classic cocktails and drinks that Warren designed especially for Bar URBO, many of which are inspired by his life and times growing up in New York City. Standouts include the Runaway, a summery version of a Tom Collins made with watermelon-rind infused gin and topped with watermelon foam, and theButterfly Knife, a corn-infused tequila cocktail with flavors that exhibit the sweetness of fresh corn, the spice of an agave spirit, and both richness and heat thanks to drops of pistachio oil and jalapeno vinegar. Bar URBO also boasts six beers on tap and a thoughtful selection of wines by the glass. And coming soon to Bar URBO is a menu of crave-worthy finger food. Expect items like Buffalo Chicken Croquettes, Portobello Fries and Lamb Sliders. Bar URBO, open from 5 pm to midnight, is an ideal spot for everything from after-work happy hours to post-theater and concert festivities.

In other exciting URBO news, URBO Kitchens on the first floor is now open from 11 am to 3 pm for lunch (dinner service begins and 5 pm). The restaurant, run by Culinary Director Brian Young, is aptly named for its three separate open kitchens, all of which feature Calacatta marble countertop seating. Must-try lunch items include the URBO Farm Salad with Hudson Valley-sourced greens, grains, market vegetables and the guest's choice of cold-poached shrimp or chilled salmon filet; Spiced Lamb Sausage Flatbread; Pulled Berkshire Pork Shoulder Sandwich; Mozzarella Panini with arugula, pesto and tomato; and the URBO Burger, topped with cloth-bound cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onions, a kosher pickle and served on a challah roll with a side of fries. There is also a selection of sushi, sashimi and maki rolls/hand rolls.
