The devastating outcomes of lessons learned from the Holocaust are revealed in a landmark, original ballet coming to the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in Ballet Austin - LIGHT/The Holocaust & Humanity Project. Presented by inSIGHT Through Education, in collaboration with the Kravis Center, the dramatic production choreographed and directed by internationally renowned Artistic Director Stephen Mills comes to the Kravis Center for one night, tonight, November 7 at 8 pm.

The internationally acclaimed dance work, which debuted 10 years ago, brings heartbreaking beauty to the stage and a timely reminder that injustice to one is injustice to all. The full-length contemporary ballet is a multidisciplinary human rights project that also includes art, education and public dialogue. LIGHT seeks to promote discussion against bigotry, hate and bullying among all community groups. The work is based on Mills' interviews with Holocaust survivors and illustrates the courage, resilience and perseverance required to endure and rebuild life after unimaginable and devastating losses. The piece is set to music by several important living composers, among them Steve Reich and Philip Glass.

Funded by inSIGHT, Ballet Austin will perform LIGHT for more than 2,000 local students prior to the public show. This will be the third presentation by the nonprofit organization at the Kravis Center, including Brundibar (2011), a riveting children's opera that Hitler used to fool the world into thinking he was treating young people well, and Hitler's Daughter (2013), a live presentation by an Australian theatre group.

LIGHT/The Holocaust & Humanity Project with honorary chairs of the event, Dr. Barbara and Jerome Golden, and with significant support from the Honorable Ann and Donald Brown and The Karp Family for the production that takes place on Saturday, November 7 at 8 pm. Tickets start at $15 an may be purchased at the Kravis Center Box Office located at 701 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach, on-line at the Official Kravis Center website www.kravis.org/light, or by calling 561-832-7469.
