Winter Dance Concert at Ohio State University Features Student Choreography This Weekend

The Department of Dance presents RE: flect | peat | dact | start at 8 p.m. tonight, February 28, and at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday March 1, at the BalletMet Performance Space, 322 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Columbus. The dance concert features student choreography as part of the 2014 winter season of MFA and BFA projects and performances.

The program includes Jill Guyton Nee's (left) MFA work, pardon the interruption, which celebrates humor and tender awkwardness. BFA seniors Emmeline Gonzales-Beban, Josh Hines, Elyse A. Morckel, Kat Sauma, and Ella Matweyou present their final choreographic and performance projects. Their solo and group works feature themes of spatial negotiation, mathematic complexity, dynamic characterization, and explorations of collaborative process.

Tickets are $10 general public; $5 Ohio State faculty, staff, and Alumni Association members, senior citizens, students (with ID), and children. All seating is general admission.
