Tickets for Colorado Ballet's 2014-2015 Season Are On Sale Now

Single tickets went on sale today for Colorado Ballet's 54th season, which will include A Midsummer Night's Dream,Dracula, The Nutcracker and Ballet MasterWorks at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and Peter and the Wolf at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.

The season opens with A Midsummer Night's Dream, September 26-October 5, 2014. This enchanting ballet inspired by Shakespeare's classic is filled with mischief, romance and comedy. A Midsummer Night's Dream features choreography by Christopher Wheeldon and a musical score by Felix Mendelssohn, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra and the Colorado Children's Chorale.

Back by popular demand, Colorado Ballet will perform a spine-tingling Halloween presentation of Dracula, October 31-November 2, 2014. Dracula features choreography by Michael Pink and music by Philip Feeney, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. The ballet inspired by Bram Stoker's Gothic horror includes seductive vampires, frightening mental patients and the king of the undead himself, Count Dracula.

The season continues with Colorado Ballet's 54th annual production of The Nutcracker, November 29 through December 27, 2014. The Nutcracker features unforgettable characters, dazzling costumes, onstage blizzards, timeless choreography and Tchaikovsky's extraordinary arrangement performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. This enchanting holiday adventure will transport audiences to a magical world of awe and wonder.

Colorado Ballet presents Ballet MasterWorks, February 20-March 1, 2015. This collection of works from the masters of music and dance will showcase the dancers' artistry and athleticism, highlighted by powerful live music performed by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. Ballet MasterWorks includes Concerto Barocco, by choreographer George Balanchine and music by Johann Sebastian Bach; Fancy Free, choreographed by Jerome Robbins with music by Leonard Bernstein; and a work to be announced. Colorado Ballet first performed a Ballet MasterWorks production in 2013.

The season closes with the children's classic Peter and the Wolf, March 27-29, 2015. Peter and the Wolf includes choreography by Michael Smuin and a musical score by Sergei Prokofiev. This irresistible family adventure features familiar music, vibrant costumes, lively dancing and a spirited narration of the whimsical story that demonstrates true bravery and imagination. The production will open with a special performance of Bruch Violin Concerto No.1, choreographed by Clark Tippet and music by Max Bruch.

In addition to the main season productions, the Arvada Center will present Colorado Ballet at An Evening under the Stars at 7:30 p.m. on August 16, 2014 at the Arvada Center Outdoor Amphitheater.
